I think this paper is a good beginning for a starting discussion on how to deal with bullies and bullying. It is mainly about how to deal with what I would say is teasing, not real bullyingy. Bullying always has some part of physical violence, or a serious threat of it happening. I'd like to believe that educating those that tease to hurt me because I stutter would stop the teasing, and I think it does. I think parents, teachers and other adults can really help stop kids from teasing kids who stutter in grade school. BUT I do think Bobby P and the Retz guy are right when real bullies are threatening to hurt you physically because a kid stutters and they themselves hurt so bad that the only way they can feel good is to beat and hurt you physically and make you cry. that kind of bullying could really hurt a kid who stutters emotionally for a very long time. I think joe donher is wrong. Some times violence will end the bully from bullying because I stutter.
