Ashley, unfortunately there Is not "one thing" that we can point to that is more important than anything else in helping children who stutter deal with teasing. However, if I were pressed into an answer, I would respond that one of the most important things a SLP can do for his/her students is to "be aware" by observing and probing for the signs that teasing is occurring. The signs are outlined in countless books and articles about teasing, including the one these authors are publishing soon (disclosure; we will glean royalties from that product). Rest assured, their is no lack of information on this important topic! Thanks for writing!
