I recently began graduate school for speech pathology. I found your article very interesting and thank you for sharing your story. I have yet to work with a person who stutters. I have taken fluency classes and observed fluency sessions. As a person who has not experienced stuttering personally, but will be working with people who stutter in the future, what is one take home point that would be beneficial for me to remember when working with a person who stutters? Maybe something I could always keep in mind or refer back to when planning a session? Anything that could assist me in relating to a person who stutters or seeing from their perspective would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Thank you!
