Joe, Joe, Hey! How are you doing? Thanks for the kinds words. I wish I could take credit for the "sunset and math problems" concept, but in reality it is a philosophy from Kelly Wilson, a contextual behavior scientist at Ole Miss (one of the founders of ACT along with the theoretic foundation of ACT, RFT). This simple idea of appreciating everything (taking the good, the challenging, and all that falls between the two) has been a life changing thought process for me. I’ve found the less I try to install judgments (my ego) into the ups and down that life exhibits, and instead appreciate all that comes, I can naturally reduce anxiety (which is just our cognitive and/or physical behaviors in conflict with who we are at the core- our values). This CAN bring me closer to who I am along with the reasons I choose my behaviors. Thus hopefully creating a continuous evolution of self. Great to hear from you! How is your fall going? With compassion and kindness, Scott How
