I like that you question the definition of "freedom". Freedom is in the eyes of the beholder. I feel like clinicians should help clients realize that true freedom is not fluency; it is not letting stuttering control you. I have come to terms with my stuttering and am blessed to be a student clinician working with an adolescent who stutters. If I did not continue to stutter I would be afraid I would lose touch with the sensitivity and passion that inspires me to help others who stutter. Stuttering is part of what makes me who I am.
