I thoroughly enjoyed reading your article. As a graduate student in CSD and future SLP your article gave me some new concepts to think about. I have not thought much about how there could be just as much fear associated with embarking on a new journey of increased fluency as there could be fear associated with stuttering in specific situations for someone who stutters. You talked about helping clients who stutter to adhere meaning to a new, more fluent lifestyle. As I was reading, I was wondering if gradually transferring responsibility in therapy from the clinician to the client is a component of this process? Is this something that you do with your clients? Are there some specific things that you do to help your clients become more confident and take ownership over their fluency/stuttering? I look forward to interacting with you here on this forum and increasing my understanding about this topic. Thank you.
