Thanks Rebekah, for reading my comments and taking time to reply. I am glad my choice to be really honest might help someone realize that making change is more difficult than the cliche "change is hard." Change changes everything, and not just to the person who is changing. Other people are affected in the changes, and may not understand or feel left out or feel threatened. All of that happened to my significant other, who saw me change and grow into a much more confident person who stutters than the scared person who always deferred to everyone else. He felt very threatened by that, and maybe even abandoned. Becoming someone else - be it fluent, thin, confident, happy - always carries the risk - will we and others like that person? ~Pam
