First, thank you so much for this article - I really enjoyed it. As a speech therapist and person who stutters, I can very much appreciate the need for PWS to want to change and take ownership of becoming a more fluent person. I've been reading the posts and while it's certainly been alluded to, I'm not sure I've seen the word, 'counseling' mentioned very much -in particular, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I know that Manning talks a lot of about this in his most recent text - one that I use in my graduate fluency classes. Of course, 'being ready and willing' for therapy is a component, but in CBT, it's learning to see (and accept) oneself in a new (fluent) way. Sounds like you do a considerable amount of counseling in your therapy. Thanks again for a great article!
