I had all the tools (cognitive, attitudinal, and behavioral) I needed to be my own therapist after leaving treatment, so I can’t lay the blame for any regression I’ve had at my clinician’s feet. At the time, I simply didn’t have as much insight into my disordered thought processes around stuttering and the full significance of what stuttering had done to me earlier in life. So I suppose in that regard, the most beneficial thing would have been to have examined those, more psychological, aspects of stuttering while I was in therapy.
