Thank you again for being so honest and open about your experiences. You have given me some examples that help explain the importance of involving family and friends in the change as much as possible. I have also finally had a quiet moment to read your paper and it was very helpful. A few points you made specifically stood out to me. One was the fact that in the beginning you didn't really know what you wanted or what questions to ask. This may be true of other clients that I may encounter. They may not know right offhand what goals they wish to accomplish in therapy. Development of these goals may be an evolving process as yours seemed to be. Second, is for the clinician to be willing to be involved and invested in the experiences along with the client. It may seem silly and uncomfortable but I agree that as clinicians we need to do our best to truly understand our client's story and what he/she feeling. It has been a pleasure interacting with you on this forum and you have opened my eyes to more of the intricacies of stuttering and treatment. I truly appreciate it and wish you the best. Rebekah
