Katherine, you are a brave young woman to take on such an adventure. Traveling in a strange place is one thing, but interviewing a specific population is another! I can't imagine the preparation and planning for your journey! Did you travel alone? Were you scared meeting strangers, and staying on "unfamiliar couches?" It was interesting that it was your 70th interview when you realized and accepted your own strength and potential, although it was working for you right before your eyes and you didn't realize it! Someone in the comments mentioned a video of you and noticed that you were more fluent when not making eye contact. What video is that? While it is true that eye contact is promoted for more fluent speech, your experiences show that techniques are different for different people. I am looking forward to your book in the spring.
