Alan – Thank you so much for sharing some of your story and mentioning your paper, I look forward to reading it. I can certainly see how telling ‘secrets’ to complete strangers can be easier than speaking to those we care about the most (I was always humbled by the honesty and generosity of my interviews). And yet I think there is a certain catharsis that comes from opening up to people we love that is very powerful and unique. Best of luck writing your book!
