Hi Katherine, I am an SLP grad student, and although I never stuttered growing up, I have this pull toward wanting to work with PWS more and more. I must say that your story was very touching, and I will definitely be looking for your book when it comes out in April. The way you described your experience was compelling, and kept me wanting to read more! I have a few questions for you: 1. After this particular interview that you wrote about, did you find it easier to open up to other interviewees about your own stuttering? Were you more open to talk about your experience growing up as a person who stutters? 2. Was there something specific in this man's life that had helped him "escape the silence" and begin chasing his dreams, even when others had been telling him he couldn't or shouldn't? 3. You mentioned in a previous post/comment that you had interviewed SLP's as well as PWS. Did you notice any common similarities between treatment plans and outcomes? For instance, were there any treatment plans that worked better or worse for SLPs? 4. Have you thought of traveling to other countries abroad to interview PWS, and find how different cultures view and work with stuttering ? 5. Now that you have gone abroad to gain "fresh eyes and ears", as you stated in a previous post, have you given thought to doing something similar in England, putting your "preconceptions" behind?
