This sequence of posts reminds me that a few weeks ago we had a parent in a diagnostic session indicate that her daughter began stuttering as a result of looking in the mirror. I believe they removed mirrors from the house. As Lynne suggested I also would indicate that there is no research supporting such an idea. I might also suggest that if that was a reason (or tickling, or anxiety in the family, or teasing, or immitation, etc.,there would be MANY more people in the world who stuttered.
