Hi Ross, I don’t encourage people who stutter to try EMDR as just a speech therapy. Because SLP’s often understand the fears that most PWS experience, an SLP might help someone with the powerful emotions EMDR can sometimes bring to the surface. I don’t think traditional speech therapy would work well in conjuction with EMDR therapy though. EMDR helped me to explore my thoughts and emotions relating to my speech and I did find my participation with the Dallas NSA support group also help me a lot. Thanks for your thought provoking questions!
