This article was extremely interesting. As a current Speech Language Pathologist- Assistant and graduate student, I was intrigued at the topic of EMDR and its relation to stuttering. Before reading your essay, I had never heard of this type of therapy approach. I found the information you provided through your experiences to be very informative and interesting in its connection to stuttering. In my experience both professionally and as a student, I have never honestly thought outside of the “speech therapy world” for therapy approaches to help those who stutter. Thank you for sharing your journey and helping me to gain new knowledge that I will hopefully be able to use to help a person who stutters along my path as a future Speech-Language Pathologist.
