Hi Judy, Thanks for an interesting question on creative coping strategies for turning the worry dial down. One of my adolescent clients wrote that she was planning to "brainstorm aspects of the situation and see if she could get a new perspective." I thought that was creative, in that she was working on some cognitive restructuring on her own. I find that most clients are creative in the kinds of distraction activities they choose - from listening to a specific kind of music, reading poetry, the form of exercise they choose to engage in (one client wrote "practice tai chi for 10 minutes"), etc.
