Hi Taylor, Great questions! I do find that children will use their worry dial throughout therapy - sometimes I will have a child request to make a new worry dial for a given speaking situation; other kids will pop into a session and say, "I figured out something that helps me turn my worry dial down, can we add it to the list?" One child started with only 3 coping strategies on his dial and is now up to 11. From a measurable objective standpoint, I find this to be excellent because you can document how many worry dials are created or how many strategies identified - certainly a child who has gone from 3 to 11 different strategies for coping with anxiety is showing a positive response to therapy. As far as kids keeping worry dials from childhood through adolescence, I can't really answer that because I've only been using WDs for 3 or 4 years now. I don't have any clients on my caseload who've been on service for that long. Thanks for the interesting feedback!!
