I like the idea of the worry dial. I definitely think that the uses of this strategy can be generalized to work with parents as well. Younger age groups, in terms of children who are entering the beginning stages of stuttering, might be able to still use this concept. By externalizing the problem, internalizing solutions and making the problem more concrete, I really believe that younger children will like this strategy as well. Less complex language to facilitate an efficacious implementation of this counseling technique in fluency therapy is vital to its success with younger children. Overall, it is a good concrete way to discuss fluency related issues with your client.
