Hey Taylor! I would say the biggest difference between the presentation of treatments was the variety of treatments being administered in a short period of time. As an example, LOGO has a computer program which uses a touch screen interface and is specific to speech and language. I have yet to see that used during my education nor in the field since I've graduated. There certainly are cultural differences in terms of how things are viewed but not ones I really noticed, what I did notice what how similar things were through the differences (if that makes sense). The differences were stark: language, social interaction etc, but the similarities shone through that. To answer your questions directly, I didn't really see a difference in terms of how PWS are viewed, I did see a difference in the treatments used and the tools available. With many more tools available as well as numerous avenues to address communication differences. Some of the clients required different types of assistance, one had initiation difficulties resulting in social difficulties; his fluency difficulties were caused by a TBI. We saw him in a group treatment which focused on fluency in a group setting but the group treatment also focused on assisting him with his other areas of deficit, which were a result of that TBI. I hope this answers your questions! Thanks, Greg
