In this short article, it is clear that the treatment approach at LOGO is very multi-faceted, including activities like art and aqua as well as non-traditional forms of healing like massage. In the U.S., however, treatment of communication disorders is much more insular. There is very little collaboration across disciplines and even less incorporation of non-traditional therapies. Basically, it seems like at LOGO, the patient is treated whereas here, we treat the disorder. What do you think is the cultural foundation for these different approaches?
