Hi Alyssa, I really enjoyed seeing the diversity of methods used at LOGO for treating stuttering. I am convinced that treatment must be tailored to “fit” each individual client and family. For that reason, I was pleased to see the blending of both traditional and nontraditional methods. Honestly, I don’t favor one method over another. Again it is the “goodness of fit” - that which best addresses the client’s communication strengths and needs and enables the client to achieve his/her communication objectives and potential - that would best answer your question for each client. In general, I would like to see diverse methods being individualized without geographic limitation, as long as the methods are both theoretically and clinically sound. I am concerned whenever and wherever I see the application of “one size fits all.” This logic makes me cautious; fluency intervention is a prime example that challenges this too frequently held conviction. Thanks for your questions and your interest in LOGO. DAS
