Thank you for your insightful paper.I am also a graduate student and have recently learned the importance of counseling clients who stutter. This disorder is multi-factioral and involves not only the obvious disfluencies but internal emotions as well. I agree with other people who have commented that it is more difficult to get younger children motivated. In reference to some who posed questions about this, I believe getting the family involved is vital. As clinicians, we may give children all the tools we have but if there is no carryover, the results will not be as successful.
