I am graduate student in Speech Language Pathology at Appalachian State University. I enjoyed reading this article and fully believe that an SLP can't help a person if they are not interested in being helped or if they do not believe they can "change" their speech. What are some initial steps an SLP can take to provide encouragement for an individual to be an active participant in stuttering therapy?
