Hi Ken. It is very good to read this advice, namely to listen first to all the useful information and then, and only then begin to look at treatments. From my experience as a stutterer, (I am not an SLP) I needed to learn that the only person who could help me was me. Sure, you and all the other SLPs have expertise to give to us to help us to help ourselves. This is for both our stuttering speech and our possible mental issues. (Negativity; low self esteem, social anxiety to name but a few.) But basically it is all down to me to improve my own communication skills. This can be done with the advice of SLPs and others. Some of us are very good communicators now. Thanks for this and I hope Ben finds the time and memory to make a list of his therapy treatments. Enjoy the conference, Keith
