I found your article to be very truthful. As a graduate student at Syracuse University, I have seen the importance of the counseling side of speech therapy. I appreciate your idea of spending a session letting a person who stutters let out their frustrations and elaborating on techniques that worked for a while and those that did not. The client's personal comments can be more informative than all of the speech reports that follow them.
