Hi Pam, Thanks so much for the kind words, and coming from you, I will take them in and savor them for just a moment. I just read your 2009 lessons and found them definitely to consistent with the approach I have advised in my paper here. Great minds think alike. <smile> Seriously, I respect all that you have done for those who stutter, overtly and covertly. And I was so pleased to hear that you invited a young woman from our clinic here to participate in your blog (or whatever it was). She was greatly empowered. As for why I talked about this now, there is no particular reason except that Judy asked me to contribute something. I thought of a number of things, but settled on this topic because I had never written about it before. I try to emphasize to my students that if they want to become an excellent clinician, one simple thing that they can do to move them in that direction is to fit what they recommend into what the client has already experienced. I've known that for a long time and simply wanted to share it. Ken
