I really enjoyed reading this, Ken. I am an SLP graduate student and am currently in my Stuttering II course. Honestly, I still do not feel comfortable treating a PWS in the future. I agree with all you said about listening to, caring for, and exploring the client's therapeutic and emotional past. However, beyond that introduction phase of therapy, how will I as a clinician know what strategies to use/test with the client? How can I be sure the PWS does not get discouraged when I am open and honest about the lack of stuttering research and effective strategies? Do you have any further advice for me as I get closer to becoming an SLP? Thank you so much!
