Hello. I am a graduate student in speech-pathology and am taking a stuttering course this semester. Your article caught my attention and was very interesting to me. The social anxiety that people who stutter may experience may really impact their quality of life. I especially think of young children at school and how stuttering and anxiety may impact their everyday lives and social experiences at school. I think raising awareness in a school and collaboration with other professionals is necessary to best help these children. As a future SLP, what do you think the best way to raise awareness in a school about stuttering and anxiety is? I feel like many people may be unaware that they are linked or even unaware of what stuttering is. What do you think the SLP's role is in addressing anxiety that children who stutter may face?
