I really enjoyed the way you display stuttering as more than a burden or a difficult problem, but instead as a challenge that may be overcome and an opportunity to develop life skills. Many parents view stuttering as a burden and are worried about the effects stuttering will have on their child’s life. When my aunt was told that her 4-year-old daughter needed to attend speech therapy for her stuttering, she was distraught and didn’t know how to handle such a situation. What kind of advice would you give to parents who have this type of reaction to being told their child will need to received speech services?
