I found your article very inspiring! I am currently enrolled in a fluency class in my graduate speech-language pathology program. Based on your experience, what is the first piece of advice you would offer to any SLP working with his/her first case of school-age stuttering? Also, you mentioned the importance of giving the clients hope for their future. Do you feel that many speech-language pathologists are often intimidated to work with people who stutter because they know they must inform them that there is no definite cure for stuttering? If so, how do you feel is the healthiest way to inform both, children and their parents, that although there is no definite cure, there is still a future full of hope? Thank you very much for your time!
