Thank you for your article. I especially enjoyed your perspective that stuttering should be addressed in an honest and straightforward fashion. I am student who is inexperienced in working with children who stutter and I can honestly tell you that the issue that I am most nervous about working on in therapy is not the disfluencies themselves, but talking ABOUT the stuttering. I don't want to place too much emphasis on it and make it even bigger in the child's mind (what if it doesn't bother him at all... I don't want to put negative connotations on it) but I also don't want to avoid it to the point that how the stuttering makes him feel never gets addressed. The article was very helpful, and I am eager to hear of any extra advice you can give in regards to this issue. Thanks!
