This is an interesting article! I didn't know that a lot of speech-language pathologists didn't like treating people who stutter. My university has a class all about stuttering and I have learned so much in the past seven weeks. I had to do a project where I had to go out in public and stutter on purpose in three different situations and then write about it. It was a great project because now everyone in the class knows some of the different feelings a person who stutters has. I think having that experience will help us be able to treat someone that stutters and that is why I brought it up. If you literally put yourself in the shoes of someone who stutters, I think you will have a better understanding as a speech-language pathologist of how to better treat a client. Have either of you gone out and stuttered in public to put yourselves in their shoes?
