Betsy; Of course, we have no "official statistics" on when SLPs do and do not pursue eligibility for children who stutter. I can only give you an answer from my perspective, and the good news is that (IMHO) this practice is not "on the rise." In fact, I think it is on the decline. Now, our work is to make certain that SLPs have the knowledge and confidence they need to do good work with their students who stutter!
