Thanks for your post. I'm afraid there are many reasons that SLPs aren't comfortable with stuttering. Lack of adequate training is one of them -- just plain inaccurate training is another. Many people think they know what stuttering is, but they focus too much on the fluency and forget about the rest of the disorder. Only by taking a broader view can we truly come to terms with what stuttering is - but that is hard for some people to do. Thanks again for your post! S
