This essay was just what an aspiring SLP needed to read. As a student clinician there are many obstacles that are never spoken about in text books when pertaing to the personal aspects of treating children who stutter. The portion of the essay that discussed how to interact with children and helping them understand their stutter in a realistic light was priceless information that I will use when I began to practice. As a clinicain, how could an SLP help the family feel better about therapy outcomes when they already have a negative perspective about stuttering?
