Hi, Annie - Thank you for your interest in my article. I think we need to be cautious about how we interpret these findings. Differences on one auditory task does not signifiy CAPD; it simply points to some potential difference in how auditory information is processed. We need further investigation using a variety of auditory tasks in a larger number of subjects. Testing pure clutterers would be ideal in advancing our understanding of the disorder. Perhaps the findings will influence how we treat cluttered speech, or not. I am not an expert in CAP - only an interested SLP - and do not feel that I am qualified to answer your questions about APD being recognized as a disorder in California. It appears that we have many areas of controversery in speech-language pathology. Thank you again and best wishes, Carla.
