Hi Vanessa, I don't remember stuttering as a child, but do remember the different speech therapists and "slow down" suggestions from family members, but not stuttering. As for techniques, I usually take a breathe before speaking taking pauses after using up the oxygen in my lungs and slightly stretching the first few letters of every sentence so small that others do not notice. Breathing and taking pauses work the best, however; practicing (reading) using these rules a little bit every night trains the body to use the rules all the time. Granted there are times I do not breathe correctly or even try to talk after all air has left my lungs, which results in a block. I hope this answers your question. Charlene
