As a matter of fact, I do have that very information! :) For clutterers: five males and one female served as the experimental cluttering group. The mean age of this group was 36.0 years, ranging from 22 to 57 years. All clutterers had some college experience: one held a doctorate degree, two held or were pursuing a master’s degrees, two were pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and one attended college for a short time and was working at the time of the experiment. One was a practicing speech-language pathologist and another had taken undergraduate courses in speech-language pathology. Another worked as a Dean in an agricultural field. One was studying reproductive physiology, and the final clutterer was employed in a department store. All clutterers had received varying amounts of speech therapy in the past. In comparison, controls: five male participants and one female participant, matched for age and sex, with the clutterers. The mean age for the control group was 38.3 years, ranging from 23 to 59. Two participants held a master’s degree, two held a bachelor’s degree, and two attended college but did not have degrees. One control was working as a speech-language pathologist. Another was an environmental consultant in the local area. One was a software developer in a neighboring city and another was a network administrator also working in a neighboring town. One worked at a local Wal-Mart distribution center, and the final control subject worked as a sheet metal worker in a bordering state. I also have results of several tests including the PPVT, Predictive Cluttering Inventory (PCI), Self Awareness of Speech Index (SASI), Templin Darley, and St. Louis Inventory of Life Perspectives and Speech/Language Difficulty (SL-ILP) if anyone is interested in those results. I realize you don’t have the normative information for these tests but I can summarize them by providing averages and by saying they were EXTREMELY close on the PPVT (Clutterers had a standard score of 106 and controls 105) and SASI (Clutterers 2.64 vs. Controls 2.63). They were very different on both experimenter conducted PCI (Clutters 109 vs. Controls 22) and self conducted PCI (Clutterers 89 vs. Controls 29). They were also different with regard to the SL-ILP (Clutterers 25 vs. Controls 8). Other than the individualized data that I reported in the paper (5th paragraph) we didn’t further analyze… or maybe I am misunderstanding your question. :) If so please correct me and I’ll try again!
