Thanks so much for the comments. I don't feel that most of the expressed any frustration, and if so, probably minimal, but of course I can't be sure. I do think most of them enjoyed the questions because many times we ended up joking and laughing about things as we went. :) I tried to make questions that everyone would have a simple easy answer to so that the language formulation time (and effort) would be minimized, but of course that likely plays somewhat of a role. I did have one subject that was a stutter-clutterer (and severe misarticulation of /r/), so he may have had a little more anxiety than others. Honestly, most of the subjects did not clutter in their answers to my questions. And that was completely fine because I was not attempting to measure or capture cluttering in any way during my actual experiment, just ability to estimate speech time. I would love to do a "brain mapping" type study someday, that's a great suggestion!
