Kerry thank you for your question. It is a good one. Indeed, all 6 of my subjects had some amount of therapy, either currently or in the past. If the clutterers were trying to use therapy techniques in their answers, for example, to speak slower, then their actual times would have been affected more than their estimated times. On the other hand, if they were trying to slow down "in their heads" it could affect their estimated times, however one would think that might have also been evident in their actual speech. While I cannot say for sure, it did not seem that they were attempting any strategies during testing. However, if they were, they were from different states in some cases and had been exposed to different therapists. It seems somewhat unlikely that they were all responding uniformly in such a way as to be so similar. Again, thank you for the good question.
