Yes it is....for several possible reasons: a) misdiagnosis of an individual who is disfluent as stuttering only when it might be stuttering/cluttering, or pure cluttering; b) the possibility that some individuals who improve on stuttering may find cluttering symptoms surfacing (or vice versa) as I found out in a client I had worked with. Katrina deHirsch said that the relation between stuttering and cluttering may be one of the most significant questions to ask in the field of speech-language pathology. Thank you for raising this issue. AND......thank you, Doby, for all the work you and your staff did to host the conference in Bulgaria. SO many of us have such fond memories of that conference and seemmingly made lifelong friends as well, in the name of cluttering!
