We often told clients to stretch out vowels or voiced continuants during reading by simply underlining or highlighting vowels or voiced continuants that we wanted prolonged. But most clients need a lot of verbal cueing to sustain the task, so we thought a computer application would be more systematic and require fewer cues. Like all speech pathologists, we have lots of ideas but limited programming skills, so we stared small and hope to develop more modules over time.
