I agree with Judy. I developed a set of rating scales for just that reason while doing my thesis. I knew that my clutterers probably wouldn't show evidence of cluttering when I met them, so I had 3 people fill out the rating scales: the clutterer, a good friend or family member of the clutterer, and myself, both prior to meeting the clutterer (e.g. if we spoke on the phone) and then when I ran the subject in my thesis. The scales allowed the rater to judge several areas such as expressive language, rate, disfluencies, etc. And I did find differences when comparing the clutterers to my controls. If anyone is interested I can provide the scales and my data, although it is nothing fancy.
