dear Robin, I like your idea about a database a lot. It is however important to consider that English is not the first language in every country. By building up an English database, which is a great idea, resources should be made available to share this with other languages. In Holland we do have a still small database with around 1500 people: fluent, cluttering and stuttering. Although it has been hard work to collect it, it is still not enough so we keep working on it. In doing this world wide it is important to benefit from each others work. In using the same or comparable instruments comparisons between languages can easily be made. If you want to discuss how we set up the database, please let me know and I will tell you what data we collected and how.
