About the recordings without a person knowing it. In Holland we also have regulations about datacollection. The way I do it in my practise is to start recording on my laptop, close the laptop (so it is interpreted as being off) and after recording (and before listening) I ask the client if it is okay with them to safe the recording. When they agree I save it. When they do not agree I delete it. I do this directly after the moment of recording. Another way I use is making recordings with a mobil phone (sometimes put on my lap) and afterwards the same procedure as before. When I have explained the person, that I secretly recorded them I take the time to explain why I did it. Why it is in their best interest that I did like I did. When I do have the permission to safe it I playback the recording so they can hear what I recorded. Although people can be surprised I had only one incident in which a person asked me not to safe it on the computer. And I did delete it (also from the bin of the computer). When the client and me/partners/parents have an agreement on the secret recordings, the same procedure as is described above is used at home.
