Huge question, Bobby. As Klaas Bakker has suggested, have a look at the two articles on definition. Ken St Louis' paper elegently captures key elements of cluttering (jerky speech, imprecise articulation, fast speech rate etc...) all implying a rate-mediated motoric component to the disorder. That said, many researchers and observers have considered the possibility that language disturbances can also be seen as a part of cluttering. This is a perspective that I am interested in, and the cluttering spectrum approach that Klaas refers to allows for the existence of langage disturbances as a part of the cluttering features In addition, Yvonne van Zaalen actually goes further - suggesting that cluttering might actually BE a language disorder per-se, rather than just one that presents as having a language component to it). best, David
