Dear Ari! In Russia and my country, Bulgaria there are a lot of publications showing that fast speech is a rate disorder named TACHYLALIA (pathological fast speech). In Russian classification from 1989 (manual in Logopedics by the editor Volkova)is mentioned that there are 2 main types of tachylalia. The first one is battarismus or paraphasia, second one is POLTERN(cluttering). The definition is: pathological fast rate of speech with non-spasmodic character (page 185).This means that this disorder is different from stuttering.
