I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post this kind of question here, but I desperately want to know. I don't even have the skills to make friends, so I just don't see how I can appear "personable" to be likable during an interview and land a job. I'm able to say only two consecutive sentences max (any more and I'm not even sure what I'm trying to say), and I think that just makes me come across as rude, unfriendly, snobby, lacking confidence, lacking interest in others, etc., etc. In a recent interview, I was asked a few questions that I knew the answers to but that I couldn't start answering because they required a lengthy explanation. So after a long awkward silence, I just said with endearing honesty, "I can't answer that," and the interviewer only looked at me funny. For future reference, should I have tried to say something anyway and see how bad my cluttering could be? I personally find it more embarrassing to open my mouth and not make sense than to just say I don't know (which is always easy to say and which is among the few lines I say on a daily basis), but perhaps part of the problem is I don't like to challenge myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
