Dear Jackie, some researchers claim that 85% of PWC have family members with speech language problems. No adequate numbers are available on prevalence of cluttering family members or stuttering family members. From my clinical experience I would say that the combination of stuttering and cluttering within the family is more common than rare. Tanks for this question. But before you diagnose your friend as being a person with cluttering I would say ask a SLT for advise. And please stop asking her to slow down: it is more helpfull just to repeat what you did understand and hear. In that way it becomes clearer what the problem is and that you as a listener are also working to improve the communication. Thanks again for this important question you shared with us. Yvonne
